ABSTRACT

In Chapter 2, the range of eclecticism in Postmodern visual art is surveyed. Attention is paid, in turn, to examples from figurative painting, abstraction, new classicism, installation and assemblage work, and finally digital art. Amongst the artists considered under these categories are Francisco Clemente, Julian Schnabel, David Salle, Jean Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Peter Halley, Ross Bleckner, Gerhard Richter, Ian Hamilton Finlay, NSK-Irwin, Mona Hatoum, Jeff Koons, Cornelia Parker, Jean-Pierre Hébert, and David Rokeby.
