ABSTRACT

Fredrik came to see me at the end of the summer following Victor’s therapy. He had had a month’s vacation, but instead of feeling rested by it, he felt a deep sense of loneliness. Victor was out of nappies during the day and managing it well. He had started to snuggle with a teddy bear at bedtime as a sort of replacement for the blankie that he lost in the accident. At this point Fredrik was worried that he would not have the strength to watch out for subtle signals that Victor might give about how he was feeling. He asked for some follow-up sessions and I agreed.
