ABSTRACT
Every other year psychoanalysts from the world over come together for the IPA Congress. These congresses are carefully prepared. The lectures are published before they are presented on the stage of the large auditorium. People meet one another in formal and informal working groups. In addition there is an extensive social programme. It is a festive reunion with colleagues, and people also network with friends and relations.
