ABSTRACT

In the opening two chapters, we saw that the hallowed project of linking psychotherapy and the world is not a new one (Totton, 2000). We saw that all too often the world does not show up for its first session. This is sad and wasteful because more therapists than ever before want to realise the social and political potential of our profession. Yet there still remains a huge gap between what we wish and what is the case, between wanting to play a role in social and political life and getting results. Nowhere is this gap more apparent than in relation to economics.
