ABSTRACT
Wilson’s short study of Carl Gustav Jung (1865–1961) was first published on 26 April 1984 by the Aquarian Press in the UK. It was reprinted in 1988 under the title C. G. Jung: Lord of the Underworld and appeared that year in the US. French, Finnish, German, Dutch, and Swedish editions, among others, have also, at various times, been available. It was the second in a series of short, largely biographical, studies written by Wilson for Aquarian on important non-mainstream thinkers: The War Against Sleep: The Philosophy of Gurdjieff had appeared in 1980 and studies of Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925), Aleister Crowley (1875–1947), and P. D. Ouspensky (1878–1947) followed in 1985, 1987, and 1993 respectively.
