ABSTRACT

The procedures and techniques of self-processing are precisely demarcated, remarkably so. For the teacher, the goal is to integrate these procedures sufficiently into his or her way of doing self-processing therapy so they can be used as broad guides and safeguards within which he or she works intuitively, creatively, and effectively. The main task for the teacher lies in being certain not to repress or deny the existence of the trigger and its impact on the student and to be certain to recognize evidence for its activation as reflected in the material from a self-processing exercise. The self-processing class is usually developed through telephone contacts or through a meeting with prospective students following a course that has been taught by the self-processing instructor. For most students, a choice must be made between the two modes of healing — the self-processing class or the psychotherapy.
