ABSTRACT

The model of "primary 'doubled' homosexuality or homosensoriality" has initially to do with the primary relationship between mother and baby. Babies do not set up the same kind of relationship with animate and inanimate objects. The "'doubled' homosexual" pleasure, therefore, leads inevitably to the enigma of difference. Within the complexity, the organization and regulation of primary "doubled" homosexuality or homosensoriality play a decisive role; soothes the wound that this represents for the ego, calms down feelings of helplessness, and, perhaps, even the distress that these sometimes convey. The concept of the "primary 'doubled' homosexual" relationship is an attempt to define the roots of the experience of satisfaction in what is called primary narcissism. The doubling relationship still continues to be built up until it reaches the point at which it becomes possible to conceive of the object as being different from its internal representation.
