ABSTRACT

We return to large group phenomena after having used a revenge perspective to look at everyday situations. We take up Rwanda as an example and describe the atmosphere prevailing there ten years after genocide. The interplay between leaders and followers is a primary factor and at the same time there are phenomena that are special for the perpetrators in Rwanda. We discuss their ways of explaining what they did and how they look at it now through interviews made by a French journalist. Finally, we take up the revenge murders that inevitably followed in the aftermath of the genocide.
