ABSTRACT

In the Autumn of 1989, I started the Introductory Course offered by the Institute of Group Analysis; this consisted of a weekly lecture with some time for discussion after it, and a weekly experiential group of one-and-a-half hours. The Course lasted for a year, with three breaks, totalling eight weeks. I had wanted to do it for a long time, but it was only once I began to retire in stages that I could comfortably fit it into my timetable.
