ABSTRACT
The seminars contained in this volume were held by Bion in Rome in the summer of 1977. Parthenope Bion Talamo translated/interpreted at all the seminars – both Bion’s English into Italian and the questions and comments from the Italian participants into English for Bion. It was an exceptional tour de force on her part. I subsequently edited Bion’s contributions for the Italian edition of the seminars, which was published in 1985.
