ABSTRACT

Jewish myth has preserved the memory of the three faces of the Goddess as something spurious and malign. According to the legend, the first woman Shehkinah existed in her own right, as the eternal consort of Jehovah. The second woman Lilith, after being created, did not accept having to submit to Jehovah. The third woman, derived from Jewish mysticism, was born from Adam’s rib, that is, yielded to the masculine. After the burial, Christ’s body disappeared and Joseph of Arimathea was chased and captured by the Jews, who accused him of stealing the body. In prison, Joseph fasted of his own accord, and it is said that Christ appeared before him in all his splendour. Then Christ gave him the chalice and instructed him to keep it. During this solemn moment, while Christ is instructing Joseph of Arimathea, a dove flew over the prison and placed a consecrated wafer in the sacred chalice.
