ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book provides research-based and concrete strategies anyone tasked with helping educators integrate technology into their work can use. It explores the role of technology coaches and how they can successfully begin coaching initiatives and unpack strategies for coaching in a variety of common settings including groups and one-to-one coaching. The book illustrates vignettes from the field; practical tools, templates, and resources coaches and program leaders can use immediately in their work and ensure the success of their technology coaching initiative. It also explores the basics of coaching language and stances, how to tailor coaching to work with teachers at different technology readiness levels, and how to tackle difficult conversations when needed. The book offers coaches a set of frameworks and a lesson planning tool to guide their thinking and coaching around meaningful tech integration.
