ABSTRACT

In this conclusive chapter, feminine leadership is explained as what leaders do when they take charge of themselves in a given situation, make choices about how to act, and take decisions about the direction and purpose of these actions. Feminine leadership is an aspect of all forms of leadership because it acknowledges and consciously attends to the different dimensions of the leadership process. The false self establishes conventions and institutions uphold these conventions. But, as long as the false self remains uncharted, it operates unconsciously and automatically. Psychologically this is recognized in complexes, habits of mind, and dependencies. Dante’s sins and virtues are a system for thinking about who you are, what triggers you, and how you can use this knowledge to develop as a person. Dante’s example teaches us not only that it is possible to overcome these hang-ups and limitations, but also how to look at the challenges in order to tackle them successfully. The chapter explains how leaders who have achieved governance over themselves, who are striving for self-realization and who know, experience and act from the power of the intrinsically feminine, can offer the kind of leadership our modern world demands.
