ABSTRACT

Here, Danielle I. Szlawieniec-Haw outlines the structure of her world-first phenomenological study into professional actors’ lived experiences of dolesse. After providing a brief introduction to phenomenology and phenomenological, qualitative research, Szlawieniec-Haw identifies key information about her study’s participants, including their experience levels and union affiliations. She then walks us through the process of her study, from recruitment to data gathering to data analysis. The chapter concludes with an introduction to the study’s major findings.
