ABSTRACT

The second emotion makeup, sad makeup, focuses on emphasizing features that give the face a depressed, sloping appearance. Much like angry makeup, this makeup is important for performers to learn the elements that make a face appear sad. These small details will enhance a character and help the performer bring life to their role. Before delving into the sad elements, students will first apply a base old age makeup. From there, sloping eyebrows, nasolabial folds, and eye bags work together to craft a sorrowful expression. More colors and techniques are provided that students will utilize in later makeups in the course.
