ABSTRACT
Fantasy makeup is the final chapter in the book, and it pulls out all the stops. The first thing the text does is set two parameters for the fantasy assignment. The first is that the students must block out the eyebrows completely, and the second is that an outside object or pattern must be used. There are many ways to use outside objects, and the photos show detailed application of each one. Students will learn how to use liquid latex and spirit gum to attach beads, stones, hair, and found objects anywhere on the facial canvas. Gelatin drops can be used to create boils and textured skin just like beads. With each technique, a world of monsters, aliens, and creatures opens before the student. Creativity is encouraged as this makeup can look like anything and can consist of any previous technique used in the book.
