ABSTRACT

The aim of this final chapter of the book is to integrate information from previous chapters to show how single-case methods can be implemented. We present a practical, ten-step procedure for implementing a SCED in the neurorehabilitation setting, whether a clinical or research environment. The procedure comprises a checklist of points that will guide the practitioner in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the effectiveness of the single-case design. We provide a worked example from the neurorehabilitation literature (Feeney & Ylvisaker, 2008) to illustrate the ten steps. The chapter concludes with a model of clinical practice that incorporates a range of practice options, including using single-case methodology.
