ABSTRACT
Chapter 6 concludes the study with a recap of the objectives and aims and a summary of the research method and results. It progresses by examining a novel performance portal, developed for SPRING as part of the research project. This tool helps SME leaders to audit their current innovation and productivity efforts and identify these with estasblished profiles on the portal. These profiles are at different levels of technological advancement and, after identifying their current position, firms can receive advice on how to move up to the next level of sophistication. The portal is a dynamic tool as it is updated constantly as new technologies become available. Finally, the chapter moves into prospective mode by imagining the ‘future of work’ in the construction of three scenarios, situating Singaporean SMEs within the imagined context. This action forces both Government and SME leaders to keep their eyes on the international horizon for the arrival of tomorrow’s innovation and productivity schema.
