ABSTRACT

The therapist will probably not be around to witness the client's achievement of the progress markers. As these will occur after Single-Session Therapy (SST) has ended, the therapist needs to discuss with the client how they can best notice the changes and how they can use their achievement to encourage further change. The client can suggest that the client keep a 'noticing change' log in which the client notes change with respect to their problem and goal, where and when it occurred what the client did to effect the change. This chapter discusses the importance of the therapist helping the client to identify people in their who can help and support them get the most out of SST. This means that the client might ask another person to give them feedback when they notice that the client has demonstrated a relevant change.
