ABSTRACT

Chapter 7 draws together the overwhelmingly positive features of responsive legality, revising the substantive elements of the framework and reiterating its importance in twenty-first-century justice. It takes a bird’s-eye view to the studies and stories explored to present the clear, simple, yet undoubtedly important overall message that public governance is better when officials authentically and altruistically care about the citizens that they serve and are simultaneously technically trained and competent in the rules and procedures that they are mandated to apply.
