ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an updated version of Espinosa and Walker (2017)'s ‘Self Transformation Methodology’ (STM), to support organisational viability and sustainability in either organisational design or diagnosis modes. The STM supports an organisation to look at its current internal and external patterns of interaction, to identify organisational pathologies, and to redesign those roles or interactions that are poor or weakly designed from a complexity management point of view. This chapter begins by explaining the epistemology on which it is based, the stages of enquiry which it recommends, and the suggested analytical tools to support each stage of enquiry. Then it provides details on how to follow each stage of the methodology and illustrates its application through a recent application in a European School.
