ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the idea of systemic education, and the relevance of promoting a deep transformation of contemporary education institutions, both from the way of delivering an educational curriculum and from the way of getting organised to do so. It offers several examples of VSM-inspired self-transformations in educational institutions, implemented by following the STM. First, it summarises the learning from applying the VSM in the European school, described in previous chapters. Then it illustrates how the VSM has been used to design a systemic education online start-up business. Finally, it reflects in multiple ways in which systemic approaches to education have been evolving in European and American universities and ends up with a recent example of a university consistently developing its strategy as a viable and sustainable organisation.
