ABSTRACT

In warfare what is referred to as bait does not mean that the army poisons the food and water, but is any situation in which profit entices an enemy into action. When the two fronts clash, perhaps the enemy will loose teams of cattle and horses, abandon material goods, or leave provisions and supplies behind. In every case you should not seize them, for if you do, you will certainly be defeated. A tactical principle from the Art of War states: "Do not take an army acting as bait."
