ABSTRACT

That "public parade" happened in the autumn of 1976. In the spring of 1977, when another new year began, no exception, I liked to think of many things, to hope for new changes, and to plan for the future. After a cold and stormy winter came another spring. The many plants broke the frozen ground. Spring decorated the land with a colorful coat. Green leaves gradually appeared, and all the buds began to peep at one another. Little bees swiftly circled among the flowers. All the birds once again reappeared in their former favorite haunts. It was spring that brought life, hope and happiness. But, alas, all these belonged to the land, belonged to the animals, birds, and flowers. As the spring wind blew over my out-of-the-way Jianchuan, people's feelings didn't go along with the natural beauty.
