This will be accomplished by exploring a number of matters involving important decisions and policy alternatives related to population, environmental management, land use and physical planning, multifunctional and societal planning, and evaluation of policy decisions, feedback, and adjustments. The chapter aims to enumerate a list of future research priorities, albeit from authors' personal perspective. It provides an overview of Mexico Megacity that is based upon the authors' research and discusses briefly projections for the future. The chapter focuses on population growth as it is related to urban development and especially to Mexico Megacity. It presents a number of potential priorities that deal with rural to urban and urban to urban migration. In Mexico, it is anticipated that international inmigration will be insignificant so the major component of population growth will be natural increase.
