ABSTRACT

Although this chapter is concerned with summarizing the results from the reduced complex tests, the nature of political-mobilization finding does require to compare the simple tripartite model and the more complex test results. The results from the simple tripartite model revealed support for the political-mobilization aspect of the model, albeit the nature of the findings varied across the three levels of analysis. The social-class findings from the multilevel complex tests are somewhat more robust than the political-mobilization findings, they are still mixed. At the state level, only one instance of class-based environmental injustice that for the air-pollution measure of ozone depletion and toxic chemicals released to the atmosphere that focused on the black population. Evidence of race-based environmental injustice is evident, in one form of another, in nearly 86 percent of the equations that focus on the percent black population.
