ABSTRACT
“Creativity is intelligence having fun.” One important key for teaching creative activities is to remember that the process is more important than product. The teacher should be more concerned that the students have many opportunities to think and act creatively, rather than being overly concerned with the resulting poem or painting or word choice. One way to have students be successful in a creative assignment is to use a compositional formula. An easy-to-use program that allows individuals or small groups of students to create musical compositions is included as part of the Music Ace Deluxe software package. The creative Music Doodle Pad allows students to easily compose and hear their own musical creations using a variety of instrumental sounds.
