ABSTRACT

Sir Thomas More raised the question of the possibility of living in a perfect world and society. The application of standard operating systems, and algorithms, is imperative. These need to be implemented by capable physicians and nurses for their peers and not by business people interested in the bottom line and unaware of the complexity of healthcare. With the use of electronic medical records, there is no more room for fragmented care—the goal is to achieve quality care across specialties and the healthcare organization, creating patient profiles that can be easily accessed in encrypted models. The goal of all healthcare is quality, quality of the care that physicians and nurses give to patients, but also quality of life for nurses and physician, as happy staff lead to happy patients and physicians want the team to enjoy coming to work as they will treat the patients better.
