The new paradigm means for all aspects of healthcare delivery system processes used by providers, patients, and payers, including from the business operation of the hospital to the diagnosis of the patient to the discharge and follow up of a patient. What are needed in healthcare are innovation, revised methods, and even a disruption in the way things have been done in medicine. Data needs to be available to researchers who know how to conduct predictive analytic studies that predict to the individual. Good Predictive Data Analytics requires good data, and good data can only be available when there is true interoperability of data among medical healthcare facilities. If used anywhere in our society’s institutions, excellent quality control should be exercised for medical treatments. In the field of predictive analytics, much confusion comes from the varying meaning of the word “algorithm.”
