ABSTRACT

Mental Health: Mind Matters is the American version of Heureka Goes Crazy – an innovative Finnish exhibition produced with the intention of moving visitors to develop awareness and empathy for people who live with mental health issues. Through interactives, immersive environments, and audiovisuals, this exhibition offers visitors a powerful experience permeated by personal and historical accounts. The authors provide a rich account of this unusual science exhibit, offering different perspectives from which to consider the controversy that it generated, particularly during the process of adapting the Finnish version to an American context.
