ABSTRACT
In this introduction to Jenni Irving’s translation of The Sorrows of Mattidia, Hutt summarizes its possible authorship and origins. He describes how the Greek text translated by Irving is derived from the version of the Pseudo-Clementine family narrative found in the Greek Homilies – specifically, Vaticanus Ottobianus 443.
