ABSTRACT

Chapter 2 discusses regional influences on well-being. Such regions, in the Chinese context, include Mainland China, its special administrative region comprising Hong Kong and Macau, and Taiwan. These regions each have their demographic, cultural, community, economic, and political characteristics affecting personal well-being. As such, the characteristics favor the advantage of Mainland China in well-being and anticipate the disadvantage of the special administrative region. The advantage and disadvantage, nevertheless, turn out to be trivial and negligible among Chinese college students.
