ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on motorized film editing machines for 16mm and 8mm productions. The primary objective of the chapter is to give the filmmaker a foundation on the editing process with motorized editing equipment. This includes 8mm and 16mm projectors and machines designed specifically for editing. Motorized equipment can provide the filmmaker with synchronized picture and sound playback at 24fps. This chapter has a specific spotlight on the 16mm Upright Moviola, an editing machine that was once used extensively on Hollywood productions.
