ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of the research topics that are explored in this book as well as the details of the methodological approach employed by the author. The chapter first provides an overview of the challenges related to energy and the environment in South Asia. It then presents the main issue that this book will attempt to examine, that is, the root causes of low levels of energy cooperation in South Asia. The outline of the 11 chapters in the book is provided, followed by a brief overview of the importance of the study for moving towards low-carbon development and regional peacebuilding. Finally, the chapter provides a detailed overview of the research methodology.
