ABSTRACT

Angela, a finance director of a media organisation, received feedback that she needed to think about the nature of her day–day interactions with colleagues and the quality of relationships. It was couched like this:

Your work is fine, in fact it’s excellent. However, I sometimes feel, and I think your colleagues see it similarly, that we don’t really get all of you. And it leaves a question mark over your authenticity. The reason why this is important is it affects your relationships and, more importantly, maybe there’s something we could be getting that we aren’t’.
