ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author presents a framework and reasoning for working as partners with the child study team. The author presents evidence that when child study teams and school counselors do not work in concert, which is frequently the case, the student loses valuable resources. The chapter presents an understanding of the role and importance of a child study team and how its goals may differ from those of a school counselor. The author finishes by discussing the counselor's role in identification of students with learning disabilities.
