ABSTRACT

In this chapter, I present the analysis of classroom interactions in different EMI science classrooms. It offers the readers an overall picture of the author's research process and focuses on seven specific aspects of analysis, including (1) interaction time, (2) proportion and length of teacher and student talk, (3) number of initiations and responses, (4) wait time between teacher and student turns, (5) proportion of teacher and student talk in L1 and L2, and L1 patterns, (6) pedagogical functions of teacher and student talk and (7) teachers' questions.
