ABSTRACT
A leader has to influence self before influencing others. This chapter discusses how servant leadership style is the most effective. Servant leaders learn to listen to their staff and put their needs before their own. New leaders also need to build intentional relationships with teachers to get their support and build team culture. Finally, new leaders need to find mentors to help them navigate their new role.
