ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses event stakeholder relationships and the formation of strategically beneficial alliances. We provide insight into intra-organisational and inter-organisational characteristics that influence the governance of alliance portfolios and the value creation within them. This leads to the analysis of opportunities and challenges associated with alliance formation. The discussion then turns to service-dominant logic and we consider how events can best co-create value for both business and social impact. Throughout this chapter, we present industry case studies to illustrate alliance governance considerations in practice.
