ABSTRACT

The concensus of human opinion has always agreed with the statement of the Psalmist, David, when he said, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth His handiwork!” Poet and plowman, astronomer and artisan, civilized and savage have all alike agreed that there is a testimony in the fact of the heavens that reason cannot refute. From the remotest ages man has been awed by the starry skies, and sensed that they told a tale of might and power far beyond the scope of human reason. Paul the apostle also said that “the visible things of creation testify to the invisible Creator,” and there is no voice that speaks so strongly and so universally as the voice of the stars and the planets.
