ABSTRACT

This chapter covers the theoretical positions from Mouffe, Laclau, Gramsci in terms of what Agonism is in a context of political action through a process of art-making and references Raymond Williams positions of culture being ordinary. These approaches become a framework through which to see the development of later chapters and will be considered in this chapter with references to alternative art school methods by School of the Damned and the Silent University to set up larger dialogues in Chapter 3.
