ABSTRACT

Different stakeholders had varying beliefs about the potential value of lessons for students on the teenage brain. It was important to find out what the students themselves thought about this. The results for the three topics of stress, moods and sleep are especially useful, as each can be linked to aspects of brain development. Therefore, teachers can pick up the threads and highlight how the lesson is going to go on and explore these topics further. The teachers saw that having more of a perspective on their development could assist the student in the school setting. The chapter concludes with some thoughts about how the introduction of the lesson plan might benefit the wider objectives of the school. These benefits relate to teachers having a better understanding of the changes experienced by their students, as well as knowing more about the learning process.
