ABSTRACT

As has been examined throughout the book, the TV multimedia journalist has a different job description than that of a traditional reporter or photographer. That said, any ambitious MMJ would be wise to follow and learn from the work of the business’s best – traditional crews included. On the local level, no reporter produces more meaningful stories than Boyd Huppert of KARE-TV in Minneapolis/St. Paul. He has taught at conferences around the world and continues to produce compelling features and win numerous awards every year. This chapter displays his best pieces of advice, tailored in ways that apply to MMJs.
