ABSTRACT
In television news, one’s appearance always plays a substantial role. Yet TV multimedia journalists must dress the part of not only a reporter but also a photographer. Try shooting a story in high heels; try editing in a cramped live truck while wearing a suit. Young MMJs must already navigate through so many challenges in terms of producing a story; ideally they should spend as little time as possible worrying about how they look. This chapter answers numerous questions regarding hair, clothing, and make-up; journalists can implement these tips and thus focus more on their stories. It includes the advice of Heidi Wigdahl, an MMJ at KARE-TV in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
