ABSTRACT

Technology remains the key ingredient in promoting a country’s economy as well as national security. The present age is seeing an unprecedented revolution in science and technology. Central to these revolutions have been the rapid advances in the information and communication technologies (ICT) technologies that enable a global information environment. The involvement of multiple perspectives regarding the advances in ICT and the likely nature of warfare reflects the entrenched dualism in existing international relations theories. India’s armed forces are developing capabilities to work in tandem with high-tech ICT technologies, to optimise its functioning in the network-centric battlefield and improve its operational preparedness. The threat posed by detection technologies led to the evolution of stealth. A similar trend has been observed in the field of ICT wherein the advances in technologies like artificial intelligence or deep machine learning are being used to deter cyber threats.
