ABSTRACT
The previous chapter focused on the first dimension of green industrialisation, greening industry. This chapter focuses on the second dimension of green industrialisation, greening services: the creation of new, and expansion of existing, enterprises so that they can deliver the environmental goods and services that the rest of industry, primarily SMEs, requires to green itself. The chapter summarises the policy and support programmes for the four regimes of greening services: the supply of environmental goods and services, the establishment and operation of eco-industrial parks, the adoption of eco-design, and the recycling of waste products and materials. These summaries draw on published reports and articles to give an overview of relevant policies and support programmes. For each regime, there is then a summary of reports and studies on policies and support programmes which have either been adopted by SSA countries or have been discussed for possible adoption by these countries.
