ABSTRACT
This chapter briefly details the methodology of the book and offers a critical and ethical reflection of how the research was undertaken and managed over the three-year research period. It declares the objectives of the research, how it evolved and how it mostly related on a delicate balance of participant observation in refugee camps, border crossings and inner-city slums with the use of technological means such as Facebook and WhatsApp. It shows how the sample was expanded to 110 refugees across 14 different European countries before showing how relations were made and maintained over the three-year period.
