ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an in-depth reflection of the findings of the study, substantiated with other empirical literature. Further, it summarises the research findings that were investigated in the western part of Ghana. The chapter also discusses the main issues in the findings of the research and how they relate to the overall objectives of the book. Critical evaluation is done under the following subheadings: Quality of living conditions in the Western Region, Challenges with human capital formation and skills development, Challenges with medical care in Ghana, Unemployment in Ghana, Transparency and accountability in the mining sector and in the Minerals and Mining Act 703, 2006 (the main mining law that regulate the mining sector in Ghana).
