ABSTRACT

This brief conclusion acknowledges that the question of political writing is as pertinent today as it was years ago. Glancing over poems by Hanif Abdurraqib and Ingrid de Kok – two very distinctive poets, writing on different continents, decades apart – this conclusion suggests that there is a conceptual trajectory regarding literature’s relationship to politics that has still not run its course. This conclusion succinctly sums up the monograph’s main point, namely that Adorno is a manner of exploring the literary within the ambit of politics, whilst the literary gives us a space to explore the applicability, relevance, and value of Adorno’s conceptual vocabulary.
