ABSTRACT

The resistance element emerges when the chief protagonist decides to take action against his alien hegemonic oppressors disrupting their camouflage and revealing the aliens to the world. This functionally cripples their hegemonic order and allows the protagonist to die a hero. Specifically, resistance functions within society often not at the fringe, locating it near the infantilized but with a different access to power. Resistance typically focuses on a refusal to comply or accept some social practice. The resistance quadrant is internal to society, reacts to the consumerism of infantilization, and is arguably more aware of their powerlessness. Resistance requires action in the face of a power disparity, not just a dynamic. Even in the context of social media, there is implicit danger associated with resistance. The notion that an online presence is somehow insulated from repercussions is known to be erroneous.
